At first glance, this web site may appear to be a random collection of photographs and paintings. But, in reality, it's a site about people, faith, beauty and light. I take pictures because I enjoy capturing the enduring beauty of God’s creation. I've taken thousands of photographs over the years and many of the photos on this web site occurred because of something I call the “Moment of Light.” That mystical moment in time, while standing in the beauty of nature, when the framing, the lighting, the peak action, and the colors all come together...and at that instant I press the shutter to capture the image for all of time. Proud member of Professional Photographers of America. As I reflect on my over 30 years of photography I am now starting to understand the art of the craft. I am influenced by the quote from Ansel Adams, ""You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved." When you press that shutter your brain and your eyes are capturing your experience and observations about light combined to that instant in time that can now be immortalized in an image to be viewed over and over.
